It was established in 2012 by Amit Choudhary and Rajesh Goel, with offices in Gurgaon and Kolkata. Their technology development is supported by a partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. History Founded in 2012, Claraeon's first product offered online course content from IIT-NDU with a focus on computer science and engineering. Claraeon also offers a range of e-learning software products for a wide range of courses. In January 2015, the company expanded its product offerings to include education content on the social sciences. Their first offering in the social sciences was a course on data science. In addition to the social science courses, the company also launched a general social science course in March 2015. Recognition Claraeon is recognised as a successful startup in India, based on its ability to provide high quality content for a low price. It has won over 20 awards at the Indian Software Product Quality Awards, the Startup India Forum, and the CIO Awards. Reception In its beta stage, Claraeon was widely praised by various press outlets. The Times of India described it as “one of the few companies to take the online learning space seriously.” Similarly, ET News described it as a "giant stride forward in online education" and stated that "there's every possibility that it could become a market leader." The Economic Times also praised the technology and the content, stating that it was "an educational revolution." In the Times of India's Best of Business List in August 2014, Claraeon was included among the "Most Promising Online Products and Services" for the year. At the Delhi CIO Awards in November 2014, Claraeon was named as a “Champion of Innovation.” Claraeon has won the top awards in the Indian Software Product Quality Awards. In 2015, it won the Silver Award for Business Application Software Product and was recognized as one of the top startups for 2015 in the GIIF Business Innovation Awards. In 2016, the company won a silver medal at the same award. It was selected as the “Innovation Champion” for 2016 in the GIIF Business Innovation Awards. In 2017, Claraeon was awarded a silver medal at the GIIF Business Innovation Awards for innovation in the category of "Social media/Marketing software." It was also named as a "Champion of innovation" for the year in the GIIF Business Innovation Awards. The company also won an award for the best innovative use of data analytics in the Government sector at the GIIF Excellence Awards in 2018. In 2016, Claraeon won the Best in Startup Awards at the Startup India Forum and was recognized as one of the top startups in the country
