In an email to the TKU community, TKU’s Vice President for Enrollment Management, John Miller, said “The Cobblestone will be a great addition to our campus life and will help grow our community.”The complex, a $23.3 million dollar project, is expected to open in the fall of 2015. A portion of the complex will house students and the rest will house faculty and staff. In a release, the TKU administration says the new housing facility will provide more than 300 beds for students. That’s more than half of the existing student population of TKU. This is one of the last additions that TKU has planned for 2014, though the school has announced a few smaller, community-based projects and initiatives. The TKU administration says the project will be funded by private donations.

“TKU is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our students and has made a number of measures to enhance security and safety on campus. We have worked with campus, city, and federal law enforcement to provide safe and welcoming places to learn.”he release goes on to say that the complex will include a dining hall, study areas, a campus store, laundry facilities, offices for student support services, and parking for students and faculty.

The measure, which passed unanimously, states: “A 21+ curfew shall be established and shall remain in effect until further notice.” The measure then provides guidelines for violations, stating that violators will be subject to sanctions bill also stipulates that no underage students shall be permitted into the school
