classes for 9th graders

 classes for 9th graders

will be held at 6:30 pm (for pre-schoolers) and 6:15 pm (for the rest of the students). At the beginning of the new academic year, our school staff will go over the new grades with the students. They will be in separate grades until then. All the new classes have the teachers assigned and are already in their classes. This process is very similar to that of the incoming students (first grade and kindergartners), and will be done in the week after school resumes. In this first week, some new assignments and information will be given to students. On Wednesday, September 20th, our new students will walk through the doors to find their new classrooms for the year.I encourage you to visit our campus before this date. Please see how well we are prepared to welcome all the new students. This is a great time to meet our new teachers, be sure to meet our incoming Pre-K students, and see how we are preparing for our returnees in the fall.In the meantime, please check our website, send us an email, or just drop by the front office. I would love to meet and get to know you!Best wishes,The staff at South Park Elementary School PS. This is a great time to visit the schools in our district. The district is hosting an open house, please see the link below for details and for your convenience, we will have a copy of the schedule there Thanks to the hard work of a number of parents and families, the new South Park Elementary School is ready to welcome first-grade students in the fall! The building was inspected on Thursday, June 24th, and is fully certified to receive new students. The building received its final stamp of approval from the State of Maryland on Monday, June 14th. This means that the children of the district can begin their school careers there in the fall! Many thanks to all of you who have been a part of this endeavor! You have been a crucial part of the team that has made this possible. At the same time that we are welcoming the children of the district, we are in the process of making sure that our schools are up-to-date with all the programs and services required by the state. The Maryland School for the Blind is located on our campus, as are our Early Childhood Centers, our Head Start programs, our early intervention programs, our child care programs, and our Special Education programs. The following are the dates in the fall that each of these programs will be in place:Head Start: August 2nd Early Intervention: August 2nd Maryland School for the Blind: September 2nd These programs are in place for the children who need them as soon as possible to provide the supports that they will need for the coming school year.During the same period, we will also be bringing our Pre-K programs up to date. There are currently no Pre-K classrooms on the campus, but the building is waiting for a Pre-K program to be approved. I hope that by the end of this summer, we will have all the services and programs that our new students need to continue their education. We will be in contact with the families of the incoming students to make sure that they have all of the support that they need in order to continue on their academic journey. There is still plenty of time to sign up for fall programming, and I look forward to meeting you and your families in the weeks and months to come. You will find more information on the website, in your monthly newsletters, and in the school's newsletter. In the meantime, don't forget to continue to send in your volunteer applications and applications to our after-school and day care programs. Congratulations
