 homeschooling curriculum

Our family has been teaching children to read for decades. We can see children struggling with reading and can point them toward success. Our own children still have their learning struggles but they have many things going for them. We want our homeschooled children to find success just like our children did.Our homeschooling journey began when our oldest was a third grade. We were homeschooling because we wanted our children to have the best experiences as they learned. We also wanted to find a way to make learning fun.We didn’t have a good educational path for our children. We went through three schools. One year was a great school for Math, Science, and Social Studies. The next year was better in language arts and music. The next school year was more trouble than any of our previous years. We were homeschooling our children. We were new at this and it took us two years to become self-sufficient. Our first year was a nightmare. We had a bad principal. I believe the first year was the most challenging. My family has been homeschooling since 1997. Before that time, we tried other ways to educate our children. Our family decided to homeschool. We tried to make it work before because our children have severe learning disabilities. For us it has been a wonderful experience. It gives our children an environment they are not allowed in a classroom. The children have friends who are all learning together and are not labeled by school.I can’t believe how much fun this has been! I wish everyone would do this for their children. It is so much fun to watch their excitement as they learn new things. When we moved to Colorado in 2000, I quit my job because I wanted a job I could do from home. It has been so wonderful to stay at home with my children. We are homeschooled, which means we teach our children at home. It is wonderful to be with them when they are learning.I was the type of mother who was not a great homeschooling mom. I always thought it was too much work and time. It took me awhile to decide I should start homeschooling. I did not have any experience. When we moved to Nebraska, I had to do a lot of research. I had heard so many good things about the homeschooling community here. We moved to Nebraska in 2007 and have been homeschooling since. I never dreamed I would homeschool. We did a lot of research before we decided to homeschool. We wanted to homeschool our children and we believed we could make it work. When we moved to Missouri I had to start over again. We started homeschooling after our third school. It took awhile for us to feel comfortable with our decision. When I got married we began to discuss homeschooling. Our first two years were spent making sure we were doing everything right. It was so hard. I am now so glad we decided to homeschool.I started homeschooling my first child when I was five months pregnant with my second. We had gone to the public school for our first child. We were so glad to be home with our new baby.I felt my home education was not going to work for our children. They were not able to function in the public school. They were not allowed to go to any field trips or sports. They were in the front row every day.”We homeschool because our son is in a special needs class at school
