As a project based teacher, you will use several approaches to create a new way to learn, and to inspire, engage, motivate and reinforce students You will develop your knowledge of and experience with current educational issues and their applications in the classroom. You will also develop a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of curriculum development, instruction, and assessment strategies and their relevance to the needs of the diverse learners.The Program will provide students with opportunities to apply learning to a variety of contexts, to explore a range of subject matter in depth, and to develop their thinking skills and research skills.The program aims to develop professional development potential for you as a highly skilled and experienced specialist teacher who is able to use research-based and practical approaches to design and implement effective and equitable learning experiences for all learners.Successful completion of this program will confer an academic qualification recognised and accepted by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as a Graduate Diploma.Graduates of this Program will be eligible to apply for registration as a Special Needs Specialist Teacher with the National Association for Special Education Teachers (NASET) or other specialist teacher organisation (such as the Professional Association of Special Education Teachers or the Queensland Association of Special Education Teachers)Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for registration with the Board of Special Education as a Special Needs Specialist Teacher in accordance with the Registration Act 1987 Application and selection is contingent on the availability of positions. If selected, you will be expected to undertake an appropriate, full-time, post-graduate programme. This will be in accordance with the relevant statutory requirements of the Board of Special Education. If required, positions may be for a one-year period, however positions may be available for longer periods.Applicants will be assessed on the appropriateness and quality of their academic qualifications, relevant professional experience, and their capacity to achieve the outcomes of this qualification.
