, we can all experience that one moment, when the instructor says the right thing to the right person at the right time. For me, it was the story of a man named Jack who lost everything in a car accident and needed money to pay for medical expenses. He had been working full time for four years and was a dedicated family man. He was a single father who worked hard to take care of his family and his disabled mom. He was only making about $13,000 per year. He worked hard and got ahead, but things took a turn for the worse when he lost his job due to downsizing. Then, it got worse. He found out that his wife was being unfaithful with someone else. Then, he lost his house in a fire and ended up losing all of his possessions. At this point, he was struggling financially. His story of his troubles were very interesting and he had a nice personality to go along with it. I could see myself relating to him and I even started to ask my wife how her day was, and made a joke about the size of her car. I was still having a positive attitude and I never showed any signs of losing my cool. I didn't show that I was frustrated, but still had a great attitude. The class had a very interactive feel to it and there were lots of personal stories about life that I could relate to. The professor was very easy to get to know. After listening to his stories, I just wanted to hug him. Then, the moment of the class had come. The professor said, "Let's start with a question: What is the most important part of your job?""I'm an engineer and I guess that the most important part of my job is my work-life balance. When I start to lose my job, I feel like I need to start doing the right things to save myself."Jack answered the question and was called on for his response. He had prepared for the question, because that's the way that he always prepared himself. His approach was logical, which is what I needed. He never gave a long answer or a big story, but he was smart, and his answer really inspired the class. The professor was pleased with the answer and he called out a few other students to ask about their jobs. For some, the answer was the same, but for others, their answers were different. The professor then said, "What are the most important things you have to do to get through your day?"I raised my hand and I said, "First of all, the first thing I do when I get up in the morning is take a shower. It's one of my favorite things to do in the morning." The class laughed and I started to feel a little bit better.I went to school the day after Jack lost his house in the fire. I had planned to bring
